Repair and Restoration services
Level 1
Service and repair only. We diagnose and repair/replace failing parts to bring the unit back to working condition. General control cleaning and mechanisms lubed included. No cosmetic work, no maintenance work.
Note; Sometimes the units peak performance capabilities, sound quality, peak station reception at times may not be reached with this type of service. It is just to get unit working again as is. A second evaluation will be conducted after initial repairs are made for further service suggestions if needed. 30 day warranty on repair parts only.
Level 1 pricing depends on type of unit, AM vs. AM FM, Mono vs. Stereo, multiplex vs. reverb, diagnosed problem plus parts and labor. Pricing starting from $80 for general repairs and up. Sometimes there may be additional costs depending on technical and mechanical repairs needed to make the unit operational again.
Level 2
Repair unit to working condition (as described in level 1) plus maintenance service.
Maintenance service included the replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, internal fuse, resistors, amp and pre amp transistors for optimal sound quality and longevity. Frequency alignment of AM and FM bands for peak reception. General control cleaning and mechanisms lubed included. No cosmetic work. 5 year warranty on replaced parts only.
Pricing depends on type of unit, AM vs. AM FM, Mono vs. Stereo, multiplex vs. reverb. Starting from $140 for AM units and up. Sometimes there may be additional costs depending on technical and mechanical repairs needed to make the unit operational again.
Level 3
We call this the “face lift” restoration. It included all work described in level 2 plus the cosmetic restoration of the face of the unit. Face lens and push buttons are individually polished to new condition. Face plate, internal dial back plate and dial frame are refinished like new. All chrome parts are polished. (no new plating work, plating is extra). Station dial is redone like new. Station pointer is redone. This will make you unit look like new when first installed in the dash. 5 year warranty on replaced parts only.
Note: Additional cost may vary if there are broken or damaged cosmetic parts, broken or burned push button, lens or chrome plating work is needed.

Level 4
This is a full cosmetic and technical restoration. Intended for concourse points cars. Every single part of the radio is restored in detail. Work includes level 2 and level 3 mentioned above in addition the entire radio is disassembled. All metal housings are chemically cleaned, deoxidized and polished to it’s original clean finish. Then sealed with protective coating for finish luster retention. All circuit boards are also chemically cleaned and deoxidized with electronics safe agents. 5 years warranty on fully restored units. For radios with Chrome face plates or push buttons, Chrome plating if needed is extra.
